Sing with me: Do you want to build a…
…white house?
It isn’t just any white house…
Ok bye.
We built a tiny replica of the White House thanks to this cool set from Timberdoodle. That’s right it’s time for another Timberdoodle product review. I received this item free of charge in exchange for my honest ramblings where I hold nothing back.
Do I recommend this kit? I do! It’s a little pricey, but you can easily get hours of skill-building out of the set. Plus it’s reusable. You can rinse the glue off with water and start over again. I think it’d be cool to keep in a sandbox to encourage spontaneous building (if not the White House again). There’s plenty of pieces to create with — and we learned a lot! It engaged the kids spatially and logically. It was challenging enough without being frustrating.
All in all, if you do any US history studies, this is an original and fun component to add. I plan on rebuilding it with the kids while we listen to audiobooks about early Americans.
You can build this mini bricks White House for President’s Day (like we did) or entertain the neighborhood kids on the 4th of July. It’d make an awesome centerpiece for a history fair or the snack table on Independence Day. I liked it so much, I requested the Great Wall of China for an upcoming unit.
This White House building set is also part of the 6th grade Timberdoodle curriculum set, but it definitely could be used with younger or older kids. We put wide range to work.
That looks like a fun family project! So cool that it’s reusable!
