Montessori 3-part cards: 2017 Solar Eclipse: Freebie

Hot off the presses, I have got a freebie for you.

I had a few people ask on Instagram for our Solar Eclipse 3-part cards, so I added a cover page, converted them to PDF and voila!

Solar puts a ring on it.

We will use these cards to sequence, match, practice reading and nomenclature, and make little booklets.

I hope they can be of use to your family / class.

For more about giving a 3 period lesson with 3-part cards, I highly recommend Maitri Learning as an excellent resource.

Also be sure to check out Montessori Print Shop’s awesome Sun Nomenclature cards.

I list these resources just because we like ’em. I don’t get any kick back — just want to share the Montessori love.

If my cards are helpful, please let me know. Thanks!

    1. Because my kids cannot read yet, I didn’t make anything to correspond to the cards per se. But we do have a few books that I like on the eclipse. We got the 2017 Eclipse Road Trip book:
      https://www.amazon.com/Solar-Eclipse-Road-Trip-Complete/dp/1548626643

And other titles from our local library:

Eclipse; darkness in daytime / by Franklyn M. Branley. Illustrated by
      Donald Crews.
Branley, Franklyn M. (Franklyn Mansfield), 1915-2002
      call number:J 523.78 BRA

4 The sun / Raman Prinja.
      Prinja, Raman, 1961-
      call number:J 523.7 PRI

      And

Totality : eclipses of the sun
      Littmann, Mark, 1939-
      523.78 LIT

Otherwise there’s a lot of great info just on wikipedia 🙂

  1. Just wanted to thank you 🙂 We used these today and my daughter caught on quickly and can’t wait to see it all come into play on the 21st. We’re right in the path of totality so it’s pretty exciting around here.

    1. I’m so happy you were able to use these! We had such a fun eclipse experience. Hope you did too 🙂
