Because I am insane, but mostly because there is just so much cultural work I want to cover, I have made a monthly lesson plan that extends to a year from now.
It covers a lot of ground — a heck of a lot of information quickly. So instead of expecting mastery this year, I will consider this an introduction. Materials will be presented each week and exist on the shelf for a month (or more) to be used when inspired. Next year we will cover the same topics, make the materials available again and expand with new lessons and greater detail as the kids get older.
I had planned to homeschool through the Summer since we had a little one due in September. Sadly we miscarried Benedict Xavier at 17 weeks, so I decided to just continue our original plan of working through the hot Summer and added in the following months as well. I know we will need to reevaluate if the work load is too strenuous. But for now this is just a lesson plan overview, a backbone of sorts.
